Olympic Trials

The Olympic Trials are held every four years and determines who will represent the United States at the Olympic Games. While the formula to determine the final team is a bit more complex, the basic rule of thumb is the top two finishers in each event swim individual races and The top 6 swimmers in the 100 and 200 freestyle qualify to race in the relays.

Oregon Swimming has had many members participate at the Olympic Trials, and even sent a few swimmers to the Olympics, including Kim Peyton (1976) , Brent Lang (1988) and Chris Thompson (2000).
