Olympic TrialsThe Olympic Trials are held every four years and determines who will represent the United States at the Olympic Games. While the formula to determine the final team is a bit more complex, the basic rule of thumb is the top two finishers in each event swim individual races and The top 6 swimmers in the 100 and 200 freestyle qualify to race in the relays. Oregon Swimming has had many members participate at the Olympic Trials, and even sent a few swimmers to the Olympics, including Kim Peyton (1976) , Brent Lang (1988) and Chris Thompson (2000).
