Hit the pool this summer with a new friend from France or Spain

We are looking for welcoming host families for French and Spanish swimmers aged 12-18 who will stay with host families in Oregon this summer. The students come throughout June, July, and August for 3-4 week stays. They have all been studying English in their native country, and are coming to the US to practice their English, learn about American culture, and make new friends! We match students with host families based on age, gender and other shared interests. This program is sponsored by ANDEO International Homestays, which is a Portland based nonprofit student exchange organization in its 27th year of coordinating homestays. Howard Jones Memorial

Howard Jones loved the Mt. Hood pool and was extemely proud of it. One of the first things he did when his daughter Kim came home a few days before his surgery was to show her the "new" pool. A fitting memorial to Howard would be to place one of the memorial medallions at the pool in his honor. I would like to do this on the Saturday of the June Invitiational, to be renamed the Howard Jones Memorial Invitational. The cost is $5,000. Current pledges cover slightly over 20%. About Oregon Swimming

Oregon Swimming is a Local Swimming Committee (LSC) of United States Swimming (USA Swimming), the National Governing Body for competitive swimming. Our geographical area encompasses the State of Oregon, except Malheur County, and also includes the SW Washington Counties of Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania and the western portion of Klickitat.

Our responsibilities include: processing of memberships for athletes, coaches, clubs, & non-athlete members; scheduling competitions and publishing a calendar; processing sanctions for competitions and other related activities; training & certification of officials; publishing our monthly newsletter and annual swim guide; and other administrative responsibilities consistent with the needs of our programs and the needs of our members.
