The Aquatics Department at Mt. Hood Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Manager - Aquatics. Under general direction, manages and directs the college's aquatics and aquatics recreational programs which include an Olympic pool, two-recreational pools, hydro therapy pool, rock wall, and youth recreation programs that provide intramural and instructional activities, adult and youth recreation on all levels that serve local, regional and national interests and needs. Responsible for event management, communications, operations, facilities and compliance with all safety standards and regulations. Provides direct liaison between the college, Oregon Swimming and USA Swimming to ensure that regional and national competitions are regularly hosted at MHCC. Serves as contact person, while in collaboration with College Advancement, in providing contact with community partners and other entities with regard to fundraising, donations, budget assistance and startup dollars to help offset yearly costs of both competitions and community programming. Assists with development and management of policies and procedures, assists with and carries out strategic goals, collaborates with applicable college employees and external liaisons, manages department budget and provides direct supervision of department employees. Works independently and in a team environment to support the vision, mission and goals of the College.
The minimum qualifications for this position are: • Bachelor's degree in at least one of the professional areas of business management, health, physical education, exercise science, sports management or related field • Five years of experience coordinating/coaching athletics, aquatics and/or recreational programs At College's discretion, additional qualifying education/experience may substitute for experience/education, on a year-for-year basis. • Three years of supervisory experience • Experience in event management and/or contract negotiations • Considerable technical and/or business knowledge • Experience working with diverse backgrounds of the College's community, students, and employees; demonstrated commitment to promoting access and diversity • Current driver license, auto insurance and access to a reliable automobile during work hours for transportation to off-campus sites

Head Coach - Baranof Barracudas Swim Club (BBSC)The Baranof Barracuda Swim Club (BBSC), in beautiful Sitka, Alaska, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach. BBSC averages 70-85 age group swimmers, 20-30 masters, and a developmental swim program. The club currently uses a 25 yard municipal pool, with practice times generally available before and after typical school hours, as well as on Saturday mornings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with swimmers of all ages and abilities, while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development. The Head Coach will also be able to work effectively with the Board of Directors and swimmers' parents, and will be comfortable supervising and developing the assistant coaching staff, currently comprised of 3 assistant coaches. Solid time management skills are a must, as is the ability to work with the HYTEK Team Manager/Meet Manager system, and the BBSC Team Unify website. The position requires Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/Safety Training for Swim Coaches, and a minimum ASCA level 2. Several years of coaching experience, preferably as a Head or Assistant Head Coach, is also expected. A competitive salary and benefits package is available.
