Head Coach - La Grande Swim Club

The La Grande Swim Club is soliciting applications for a part-time Head Swim Coach. The primary responsibility of the Head Coach is to provide the following: training appropriate for children ages 6-18, the instruction of skill and technique appropriate to the level of the swimmer, organization and supervision of practice sessions (including swimmers, swim instructors, and assistant coaches), setting team goals for each season, providing a nurturing athletic environment for the advancement of each individual, determining meet entries for all team-sanctioned meets, maintaining communication between coach and athlete and coach and parent regarding swim training and competition, and interacting with the league officials and coaches as necessary. The Head Coach will also be responsible for recruiting Assistant Coaches (as necessary).

Required Qualifications: US Swimming certification to coach (includes CPR, First Aid, and Swim Safety for Coaches [or similar]). ASCA certification preferred, but not required depending upon qualifications and prior experience.

About the La Grande Swim Club: LGSC has a long and rich history. Currently there are 60-70 swimmers depending upon the time of year, ranging in age from 6-17. Training occurs at the Veterans Memorial Pool in La Grande, an eight lane, 25 yard pool with a new electronic timing system. LGSC has a board of directors consisting of team parents.

Pre-Senior Group Coach

The Bellingham Bay Swim Team (BBST) is currently accepting applications for a motivated, professional Pre-Senior Group coach to begin with the team September 2, 2008.  The Pre-Senior Coach will coach on deck approximately 10-15 hours/week and attend approximately 15 meets per season.  The coach responsibilities will include writing and implementing water workouts as well as dry-land training programs.  Applicants must have a positive attitude and provide each individual swimmer with quality technical training as well a rewarding overall learning experience. ASCA level 2 or more preferred but not required. Salary D.O.E. Full time Head Coach - Willamalane Swim Club

Willamalane Swim Club is looking for a Head Coach to join its year round, USA Swimming program in Springfield, Oregon.

We need an mature, experienced swim coach who will enthusiastically lead our team\'s growth, teach exceptional stroke work to all age levels, and develop long term goals for both competitive and fitness swimmers. Outstanding communication skills are needed to deal respectfully with swimmers, parents, board members, assistant coaches and pool staff.

WSC\'s Head Coach is responsible for day-to-day direction of the swim program, coaching two swim groups daily, attending swim meets, and providing direction to assistant coaches. The successful candidate will have at least five years full-time experience and be a USA Swimming coach member in good standing, current in all safety requirements and background checks. 

Our team trains in an outstanding facility with an eight lane, 25 yard pool. We enjoy prime practice times and strong support from the park district. Our practice groups include Novice, Age Group, Senior and Masters, as well as a Pre-Team lesson program.

WSC is a not-for-profit 501-C(3) organization, managed by a committed volunteer Board of Directors. Salary could include incentives.  A full job description is available upon request.

Senior Coach or Age Group Coach - Tigard Tualatin Swim Club

Tigard Tualatin Swim Club is currently looking to fill the position of either a Senior coach or an elite Age Group coach. Only one of these positions will be filled, but we encourage interested/qualified applicants for either position to apply.

TTSC is located just outside of Portland, Oregon. The team trains in two 25-yard high school pools. Team size averages about 120 swimmers with a current break down of 20 Senior Swimmers and 100 Age Group Swimmers from four skill-based groups. TTSC has a consistent history of producing swimmers from State Championship level to Olympic Trial Qualifier. TTSC is a not-for-profit 501-C(3) Corporation, managed by a experienced volunteer Board of Directors that works closely with the team’s coaching staff.

TTSC is looking for a mature, enthusiastic, energetic and motivated individual to join our current program as a coach for either our senior or elite age group swimmers. It is preferred that the candidate possess ASCA Level 3 certification or equivalent proven experience, education and achievement at either the Senior Level or Age Group Level. The preferred candidate would currently have all necessary certification requirements to be a registered coach with USA Swimming: First aid, CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches and have passed the USA Swimming background check. Preferred applicants should have competitive swimming experience, preferably at the collegiate level.

The coach we are seeking would be responsible for writing and implementing water workouts as well as dry-land training programs for their squad of swimmers. The coach of either group would need to be available for workouts in the early evening or late afternoon as well as Saturday mornings. The Senior position would also require coaching early morning sessions. Either coach must be able to attend multiple-day weekend swim meets on average of every three weeks.

Applicants must have a positive attitude and provide each individual swimmer with the best technical training as well a rewarding overall learning experience. It is important that the applicant possess exceptional communication skills to facilitate dealing with swimmers, parents, board members and other members of the coaching staff. The applicant must also be able to run day-to-day operations of either the Senior or Age Group swimmers, assist in some administrative and managerial duties and attend monthly board meetings as requested.

There is also a possibility of employment working for the school district pools and/or coaching for one of the high school swim teams.

Head Coach - YAC Swimming

YAC Swimming is looking for candidates to fill the position of Head Coach for its’ year round USA Swimming Team located in Yakima, Washington, a growing community in the Pacific Northwest located at the base of the Cascade Mountains. The team trains in a 5 lane, 25 yard pool on a year round basis and in a 50 meter pool during the summer months. The team has great accessibility to these facilities with prime hours and strong support. YAC Swimming is one of 2 competitive teams in the area serving a population of 75,000 in the city area and 15,000 within a 20 mile area. We are interested in a highly motivated individual that has the desire to develop a novice to elite competitive program. The team is committed to follow the USA Swimming model for club development while working to develop a modified Coach/CEO team.  This is a great opportunity for a coach to put forth the effort necessary to develop a great competitive USA Swimming program and generate a rewarding career. The base salary begins at $30,000, with the opportunity to receive additional income from creating a USA Masters Swimming Team, as well as private lessons and clinics. Age Group Coach - Coeur d\'Alene Area Swim Team

Assistant Coach - Canby Gators Swim Club

The Canby Gator Swim Team is seeking an energetic assistant coach for our 2008 -2009 season.

The assistant coach works with a group of 10 to 20 novice swimmers ranging in age from 5 to 12.  Instructs swimmers in stroke, turn and start techniques, strength and endurance training, and competitive swimming rules and sportsmanship.  This position with the Gators includes working with swimmers to achieve individual improvement through positive interaction with the swimmers; registers swimmers for upcoming meets; documents team and individual records; communicates consistently with the head coach; good communication skills with parents through the use of our website, emails and interaction at the pool and swim meets.

Minimum Qualifications:
Certified in CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training for Swim Coaches.
Must successfully complete a Background Screen through USA Swimming. (Please refer to www.oregonswimming.org)
Experience in competitive swimming is preferred.
Experience with word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Employment Start Date and Duration:  Working with current coach in July is optimum.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday: ___4:15 - 5:15__
WEEKEND MEETS:
Travel time plus:  Friday: 6 PM – 9 PM (4-5 meets w/ approx. 1 per month)
Saturday and Sunday:  7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (normally less time necessary)

Administrative work hours are set by the coach (meet registration, time records, practice planning, etc.)

Swim Coach - Lakeview Swim Team

Lakeview Swim Team is looking for a SWIM COACH for summer 2008.  Swim season for the 30-40 member team starts June 9th.  There are five swim meets (two in Lakeview, one in Burns, one in John Day and one in Prineville) with the last one ending August 3rd.

This is a part time position (about 3-4 hrs per day M-F + full days during weekend meets) and salary is commensurate with experience.  Must be Life Guard, CPR & First Aid certified.  No coaching experience is necessary but previous swim team experience would be helpful.  There is opportunity for additional hours by teaching private lessons or lifeguarding at the town pool.

Lakeview is a small town (about 2,800) east of Klamath Falls in Oregon\'s beautiful high desert.  Outdoor activities are all around -- hunting, fishing, hang gliding, biking and more.
