MHA Conducting Food Drive During Their MeetJanuary 13, 2011 Mount Hood Aquatics Swim Team is conducting a Food Drive as part of our Winter Invitational Swim Meet. We will be collecting non-perishable foods and personal hygiene items which will be donated to Zarephath Pantry, a Gresham-based food pantry that serves East Multnomah County. The Winter Invitational Swim Meet will include 500 athletes from 16 Club Swim teams throughout the Metro Area and as far away as Washington and Idaho. The holidays bring many donations to the food pantries they also bring increased demand so at this time, there is a great need to replenish the shelves. And, while swimmers are always hungry, most are fortunate to never truly know hunger. Donations can be brought to the meet at Mt Hood Aquatic Center on January 14-16, 2011. Donations will also be gathered from the Mt Hood Aquatics teams and lessons participant at David Douglas High School Pool, Reynolds Pool, and Sam Barlow High School Pool. You are meeting at the Holiday Inn Gresham, 2752 NE Hogan Dr, Gresham, OR 97030 at 12noon Saturday, January 8th. Upon arrival, you will get your goodie bag with t-shirts and All Star cap, and be checked into your hotel room. We will have a designated area for our team to sit together. There will be vendors at the meet including Fine Designs, Peacock Sportswear, and Northwest Sports Photography. I am making a plea to any parents who will be attending the meet, to please contact meet director Julie Greenaway (agreena833@aol.com 503-667-4465).
