Howard Jones MemorialApril 19, 2008 Howard Jones loved the Mt. Hood pool and was extemely proud of it. One of the first things he did when his daughter Kim came home a few days before his surgery was to show her the "new" pool. A fitting memorial to Howard would be to place one of the memorial medallions at the pool in his honor. I would like to do this on the Saturday of the June Invitiational, to be renamed the Howard Jones Memorial Invitational. The cost is $5,000. Current pledges cover slightly over 20%. If you would like to donate send your contribution to Gene Mielke, 3926 Fairview Drive, Hood Rvier, OR 97031. Make checks payable to: Eugene Mielke for the Howard Jones Memorial.

Oregon Swimming Online Championship Site SelectionApril 8, 2008 At the 2006 House of Delegates meeting, Oregon Swimming members voted to change the way we chose our championship meet sites. Oregon Swimming recently sent an email to a team representative with instructions to cast a vote for a site for each meet. There is one meet that has more than one bid, the Short Course 10 & Under Championships. If your team did not receive the email with instructions to log in or you believe the email possibly went to the wrong person, please contact the office to get instructions. As of this today, 17 teams have cast their votes. Voting ends April 30. Oregon Swimming Camp ApplicationsApril 8, 2008 Camp applications for the Oregon Swimming Camps are due by Friday April 11. There is still room in the Senior and B/C camps. For more information contact Mark Maxwell at familymaxwell4@yahoo.com.
