Kaylin Bing Lowers OSI Record

Kaylin Bing of Roseburg bettered the 15-16 girls 50 meter free record.  Her time of 26.33 bettered Lisha Smith's 2008 record of 26.45.

Senior Sectional Application to Officiate

Officials in assigned positions at the Senior Sectional Meet are still needed.  The deadline for application has been extended to July 3.

Electronic Timing Clinics in Tualatin and Astoria

Jim Alexander will be conducting an Electronic Timing clinic in the class room at the Tualatin High School Pool on June 25, 2009 at 6:00PM.

And July 18, 2009 in the Astoria Aquatic Center meeting room, following the completion of the 1st day of the Astoria Mid-Summer Madness Meet.  Estimated time is 1:30PM, depending on when the ETs finish their work.

Swim Champions' Fitter & Faster Age Group Clinic in Beaverton & Eugene

The Swim Champions' Fitter & Faster Tour is making stops in Springfield and Beaverton.  The Springfield clinic will be held at Willamalane Swim Center while the Beaverton clinic at the Tualatin Hills Parks and Rec 50 meter pool on August 16.  The clinics will feature Olympians Peter Vanderkaay, Megan Jendrick and Mel Stewart. 

The Springfield clinic will begin at 8am. Beaverton will hold two clinics, one at 2pm and the other at 5:30pm.

Neil O'Halloran Smashes OSI Record

At the Mel Zajac Jr. International meet in British Columbia, Neil O'Halloran of Tualatin Hills smashed the 15-16 boys 100 meter butterfly record.  In prelims, Neil swam 56.10 to beat Paul Ely's 1997 record of 56.76.  Later that day, in finals, Neil put the hammer down and stopped the clock at 55.15, lowering his record by almost a full second.
