Records Wrap UpAugust 29, 2008 During the course of this past summer, Oregon swimmers set a large number of new OSI records and several new national records. We neglected to mention a few of these records due to software and human error. At Senior Sectionals, Grace Carlson lowered her own 11-12 100 free record swimming 57.97. Her old time stood at 58.14 set at the Howard Jones Memorial meet in June. The LOSC team of Karen Turner, Amy Wiley, Sarah Feil and Cassidy Robinson set a new record in the 13-14 medley relay at Far Westerns. Their time of 2:02.23 bettered the 2:02.82 Lake Oswego swam last year. USA Swimming keeps many sets of records. One such set are All Star Relay records, which are set by All Star and Zone teams at various competitions. At the Western Zone Swimming Championships, two Oregon teams bettered 13-14 boys all star records. Aaron Young, Kevin Wallin, Aaron Ghiglieri and Colin Eaton bettered the 200 medley relay record with a time of 1:53.01 while Aaron Young, Gabriel Rooker, Aaron Ghiglieri and Keven Waller bettered the 400 medley relay record with a time of 4:07.41.
