The 2006-2007 Scholastic All-American team has been named.  Thirty-one Oregon swimmers made the list. The Scholastic All-America Team is comprised of high school student-athletes, who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and have competed in an individual event in one or more national caliber championships including the Speedo Championship Series, Nationals and the National Open Water Championships.

The coaches clinic on Friday evening will be in room GE201 and Saturday in the Gym.  Dinner will be served in the gym at 6:00PM, OSCA Meeting at 7:00PM in the GYM.
Officials clinics: Train the trainer - Room PL 107 and GE 201, All officials meet in room PL 107 at 12:45PM.

Special Olympics Oregon is seeking volunteers  for the 2007 Regional Aquatics Competition Saturday, October 13th 8:30am – 3:00pm at Osborn Aquatics Center in Corvallis, Oregon.

Over 110 athletes from 7 local communities will be competing in a one-day meet at Osborn Aquatic Center. Volunteers are needed as Stroke & Turn judges, timers, awards crew, escorts, staging, runners and lunch crew. If you can give the day to Special Olympics Oregon, please contact:

Oregon Swim Coaches Clinic will be held at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham Oregon on October 12-13, 2007.  Speakers will be:

• Steve Haufler- 2007 World Clinic Speaker (Age Group Swimming)
• Randy Bennet- Coach of Canada's first sub-15 minute miler (1500 meters)
• Ben Swinehart-2007 OSCA Age Group Coach of the Year
• Ash Milad - The King Aquatic age group program
• Skip Runkle - Coached 4 of 5 OSI men's open relay record teams (SC and LC), Lauren Thies, Julie Moore, and Matt Rankin

The Clinic Schedule:

• Friday Oct. 12- 8:30- 9:30 pm
• Saturday Oct. 13- 7:30am- 5:30 pm

For Your Enrichment, the Oregon Swim Coaches Association Presents The Thunderbolts' Ben Swinehart, voted Oregon's 2006 Age Group Coach of the Year.

Ben will be speaking at 9:00 am Saturday, October 13 at the Art Mall Theater in the East Central part of the Mt Hood Community College Campus

This important part of the OSCA clinic is offered at the above times because Coach Bennett must be back in Canada Saturday evening.

The rest of the OSCA clinic will run from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Saturday October 13. The cost for the entire clinic will be $40 (with or without Extra Credit).  Sign up at the door.  Please make checks payable to OSCA. The clinic will be held at MT Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon
