2008 Pacific Coast All Star TeamDecember 18, 2007 The athletes that will be competing in the 2008 Pacific Coast All Star Meet in Carson City Nevada, January 12-13, 2008 are: 11-12 yr old girls 11-12 yr old Boys 13-14 yr old girls 13-14 yr old boys Congratulations athletes and good luck in Carson City Jacob Pebley Lowers OSI Record at Oregon Senior OpenDecember 17, 2007 The second annual Oregon Senior Open featured many fast swims, much like last year's swim. Jacob Pebley of Corvallis set the lone Oregon record at the meet. He bettered Daniel Wilson's 1994 record in the 13-14 100 backstroke. His time of 53.14 bettered the old record of 53.34.
Trainers Clinic in CorvallisDecember 13, 2007 There will be a Trainers clinic in the Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis on Saturday, December 15. Kaylin Bing Sets Lone OSI Record at SectionalsDecember 10, 2007 This year's short course Senior Sectionals was a very fast meet, with many quality swims coming out of this early season championship meet. Kaylin Bing of Roseburg set the lone Oregon record at the meet. Swimming in the final of the women's 100 butterfly, Kaylin bettered Tori Seminec's 13-14 record by swimming 55.82.
Mackenzie Luick & Brett Nagle Swim in Finals on Last Day of NationalsDecember 2, 2007 Mackenzie Luick and Brett Nagle represented Oregon Swimming in the finals to highlight the last day of the USA Swimming Short Course Nationals. Mackenzie, swimming for Tualatin Hills, swam the 200 breaststroke. Her final time was 2:15.15, good enough to win the C final and over a second faster than her morning swim of 2:16.19. Brett Nagle, swimming in his second final of the meet, swam 1:47.95, coming within a second of 1:47.09 set back in 1991. His time was good enough for 4th in the C final and over a second faster than his morning time of 1:49.16. Mailene Leslie of Corvallis swam the 1650 free in 17:23.28. Connor McCarroll of Tualatin Hills swam the 200 back in 1:50.76. 46 year old Dennis Baker swam the 200 fly in 1:53.53. corvallis Aquatic Club rounded out the last day by swimming the 400 free relay. The team of Jordan Iverson, Caroline Wells, Sloan Storie and Mailene Leslie swam 3:35.62. Train the Trainer Clinic, December 8 in EugeneDecember 1, 2007 There will be a "Train the Trainer" clinic at the Sheldon Pool in Eugene. The clinic will take place between sessions on Saturday December 8th at the Eugene City Swim Club Winter Invitational. Start time is approx. 11:30 and will last about 2 hours. David Douglas Swimmers Make Finals at NationalsDecember 1, 2007 Brett Nagle and Laura Miller, both of David Douglas Swim Club, earned second swims today, day two of the USA Swimming Short Course Nationals. Brett swam 1:38.70 in the morning heats, good enough to make the B final. The time was just shy of Nolan Morrell's OSI record of 1:38.02. In the final, Brett swam slightly slower, finishing 8th with a 1:38.96. Laura also finaled in the 200 free. Her time of 1:48.90 was good enough to earn her a spot in the C final. Her evening time placed her 8th with a time of 1:49.84. Other swimmer's competing today include Mackenzie Luick of Tualatin Hills who swam 1:04.33 in the 100 breast, Karen Turner of Lake Oswego swimming 57.27 in the 100 back and Sloan Storie of Corvallis swimming 1:54.73 in the 200 free. The Corvallis Aquatic Team also swam the 800 free relay. The quartet of Caroline Wells, Sloan Storie, Jordan Iverson and Mailene Leslie placed 33rd with a time of 7:45.44 Archive |
